SOS Glass LTD
Glass Repair FAQ
Quick answers before you call or request an estimate.
Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. Some jobs can be reviewed from photos. Others need on-site measurement first.
Do you repair both residential and commercial glass?
Yes. SOS Glass works on homes, strata buildings, shops, offices, restaurants, warehouses and managed properties.
Can a cracked window be repaired, or does it need replacement?
It depends on the glass type, crack location, size and safety risk. Many cracked panes or sealed units need replacement rather than a surface repair.
Can you replace only the glass without replacing the entire window?
Often, yes. If the frame and opening are suitable, SOS Glass can replace the glass or sealed unit without replacing the full window assembly.
What causes fog or moisture between window panes?
Fog or moisture between panes usually means the sealed insulated glass unit has failed. The glass surface is not the issue; the unit typically needs replacement.
Do you replace double-pane sealed units?
Yes. SOS Glass measures, orders and replaces double-pane and insulated sealed units for homes, strata buildings and commercial properties.
Do you repair storefront glass?
Yes. SOS Glass repairs and replaces storefront glass, commercial entrance glass and related commercial glazing components.
Can I send photos for an estimate?
Yes. Photos help show the glass type, damage, frame condition and access needs. Include wide shots and close-ups when possible.
How quickly can you attend the property?
Timing depends on location, job type, glass availability and route scheduling. For unsafe or exposed glass, call directly so availability can be discussed.
Do you provide emergency glass service?
SOS Glass helps with urgent glass damage, temporary protection and replacement scheduling. 24/7 availability is not promised unless confirmed directly.
Do you install custom glass?
Yes. SOS Glass can help with custom-cut glass, mirrors, shower glass, railings, office partitions, display glass and interior glass features.
Do you serve my city?
SOS Glass serves Hope, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey, Burnaby, Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, Squamish and Whistler. Travel availability may depend on scheduling and job type.
Do you work with strata corporations and property managers?
Yes. SOS Glass can coordinate with strata contacts, property managers, tenants and building owners for repair and replacement work.
Do you repair window frames, seals, trim, or hardware?
Sometimes. If the issue is around the glass, frame, seal, trim or hardware, SOS Glass can review it during the estimate.
How long does replacement glass take to arrive?
Lead time depends on glass type, size, supplier availability, fabrication and whether safety or tempered glass is required.
Is tempered or safety glass required?
It may be required depending on location, use, size, code requirements and whether the glass is in a door, railing, shower, entrance or other safety-sensitive area.
What information should I provide when requesting an estimate?
Send your name, phone number, city, property type, photos if you have them, rough dimensions and a short note about what happened.
Do I need to be present for the estimate?
Some estimates require access to the property or interior side of the glass. SOS Glass will confirm what is needed before scheduling.
What affects the cost of glass replacement?
Cost is affected by size, glass type, safety requirements, access, urgency, frame condition, fabrication, hardware and installation complexity.
